Yesterday I experienced writer’s block as I sat down to write about today’s full Moon. Nothing was coming, and just looking at the chart was making me dizzy. So I went to bed, and waking up this morning, I knew what I needed to write.
For the past few months, while writing this blog, I have been avoiding - like the plague - getting into mundane astrology (i.e. current events, etc.), particularly after the world was thrown into a tailspin four years ago. The feedback I was getting back then, unfortunately, seemed to be somewhat divisive, and even if I wanted to share things I felt were true and important to hear, I stopped writing for that and other reasons. I started back just a few months ago, with a more personal and less mundane outlook. However, this chart is inviting me back to foray into the bigger picture, and I feel I need to follow that lead. Perhaps Pluto's ingress into Aquarius, which happened just a few days ago, has something to do with it. That said, I will do my best to stay as neutral as possible, evoking our highest good while calling out injustice and fraud when I see it. So here goes!
This first full Moon in Leo, setting the tone for the year, feels a bit like a queen who really just wants to do her own thing. Maybe sing a song she wrote, or give birth to some creation she has been gestating, and yet she knows she has responsibilities that she must honor. One of them is to the People, represented by the Sun in Aquarius.
This queen, if her intentions are good, has nothing to fear from her opposition to Pluto, the Great Destroyer, who just moved into Aquarius last Monday, after spending 15 years in the sign of Capricorn. However, if she harbors disdain or a sense of superiority towards her “subjects”, as did Marie-Antoinette leading up to the French Revolution, she may find herself in a rather precarious position. This is according to the historical account that we received, which may or may not be true, as we have seen time and time again - history is written by the winners.
That being said, I think you can see where I’m going with this analogy. The self-proclaimed leaders of the world, the so-called Elite, who populate the boards of think-tanks and groups such as the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organization, unelected bodies who have taken upon themselves the weighty task of regulating and governing the entire planet… they are Marie-Antoinette.
They may be very well-meaning, and perhaps so was she - we don’t really know how she felt in the depths of her soul. I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, since we can definitely question the veracity of the history we have received, especially in light of some theories about Tartaria and other lost civilizations that are ridiculed by mainstream historians, while evidence of their existence accumulates. That said, Marie-Antoinette was certainly caught up in a system where the ruling class came to abhor the peasants, living in extravagance while keeping the working class in abject poverty.
Things have changed since then… or have they? Either way, the premise is still the same: the ultra-rich, served by puppet governments, decide what happens on the world scene. Wait a minute! Aren’t our government officials democratically elected, thereby representing the will of the people? In theory, yes. In reality… just look at how they vote on important issues that affect us all: most are beholden to donors who get them elected, and vote according to their will, not the people’s. I believe another name for this is corruption…
Another responsibility that may be weighing heavily on Marie-Antoinette (the Global Elite) is a sense of justice (or lack thereof), represented by Jupiter in Taurus. Moon and Sun find themselves in an edgy T-square (90ºX2) with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and justice, in Taurus, the sign of luxury, pleasure and material goods. This sounds a bit like a tug of war, where Marie-Antoinette is vying with the “ordinary” people for the infinite resources that she proclaims are finite, by the fault of simple people, driving their cars, using A/C and cooking on gas stoves. No matter how much Bill Gates or John Kerry are paying to offset their carbon footprint, it is still gargantuan compared to yours or mine.
During the recent gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the main theme was “Rebuilding Trust”. Why? Because they have obviously lost the trust of the People. As stated by Emma Tucker, the editor-in-chief of the Wall Street Journal, “We owned the news. We were the gatekeepers and we very much owned the facts… Nowadays people can go to all kinds of sources & they're much more questioning about what we're saying.” Yep. The times have changed. A majority, at least of Americans, is now getting news from alternative media sources, whom they now trust more than the traditional media outlets. See article from Gallup Poll here.
The same mistrust applies to just about every field, from science and medicine to education and especially government, where some of the “experts”, such as Dr. Fauci, have been exposed as lying to the public while imposing drastic measures (such as lockdown and social distancing) which have since been proven to be not only ineffective, but completely arbitrary with no scientific basis whatsoever. Why? Because people are not stupid. When the government censors tens of thousands of legitimate scientists, doctors and other medical professionals, and anyone else questioning the official covid narrative, labeling their posts as disinformation, misinformation or mal-information (information known to be true but going against the official narrative), or calling them conspiracy theorists, people begin to question their motives.
To summarize, in this full Moon chart we see a clear tension between the ruling class (Moon in Leo) and the people (Sun in Aquarius), with Jupiter, overseer of the judicial process, in proximity to Uranus, representative of freedom and revolution, pulling the arc string between them (Moon and Sun), aiming it into the center of Scorpio, the only sign represented by two animals, the Scorpion (our shadows) and the Eagle (our highest spiritual aspirations). This chart is setting the tone for the year to come, which looks pretty edgy, indeed!
Mars and Mercury in Capricorn, soon to trine (120º) Uranus in Taurus, may be giving weight to the populist movements we see happening in Europe, where the farmers are demanding an end to the disastrous policies depriving them of their livelihoods, and depriving the rest of us of a reliable source of food, while the elites in Davos are saying “Let them eat bugs.”
Meanwhile, Venus in Saturn’s sign of Capricorn, in a sextile (60º) to Saturn himself in Venus’ sign of exaltation (Pisces), and trining (120º) Jupiter in her sign of Taurus, seems to say, “Don’t forget, guys, this is ultimately up to us women - we will have the last word.” Just like in the councils of many native tribes, where women ultimately make the decisions that the men carry out, because the women, closely connected to the Earth, know what is best for all. The mutual reception of these planets, where Venus is clearly the master (in overarching aspects to both Saturn and Jupiter, who are in her signs), is reassuring. This reminds me of the tarot card “Strength” (Nº VIII or XI, depending on the deck), where is depicted a lion being contained or calmed by the gentle strength - spiritual force - of a woman.

I hope this has been an enjoyable read, and not too controversial or upsetting. Please leave me a comment if you’d like - I would love to hear from you!
