Have you ever experienced something that rocks your world to the core, that shakes your tree until just the branches remain? And then what?........ welcome to the new Moon in Cancer, 2025. Cancer, the sign of the Great Mother, invites us to retreat into the sanctuary of the heart, to feel deeply with our body, and to remember that healing doesn’t always come through action—but through presence, receptivity, and emotional honesty.

This New Moon is remarkable in that its exact conjunction with exalted Jupiter—in a cazimi with the Sun—is blessing this lunation with amplified optimism, spiritual protection, and the potential for a deep internal expansion rooted in emotional wisdom. It also fully activates and awakens the potential for new beginnings in the realms of nurturing, motherhood, and all things related to women, home and family.

On the day of the Solstice, my beloved cat, Zephyr, was hit and killed on the street in front of my house. I don't think I've ever experienced a level of grief that profound, a feeling of being ripped from my foundations, all the while knowing that others are experiencing much worse, losing children, being orphaned, etc. This was my version of what others are going through, in ways I can't even imagine being able to withstand. For that, I feel very blessed, in spite of the intensity of my feelings of loss and bereavement.

What I am noticing here is that we have all been going through some version of that intensity, and it can be very challenging, especially if you have sensitive points being activated in your chart. I happen to have my Moon in Cancer, at the exact degree Jupiter is occupying, alongside the Sun and Moon as they conjoin for this new Moon. So it makes total sense that I would go through a very challenging experience, followed by an opportunity to heal using these beautiful new Moon energies.
