Cancer Solstice, June 20/21st, 2025

Happy Solstice! Today marks the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere, and of course the shortest day in the Southern hemisphere. It also bears a very powerful signature, as the Sun just joined Jupiter in the first degrees of Cancer, where Jupiter is exalted. The Sun also just aligned in a square aspect to Neptune and Saturn, and this aspect could be thought of as the keystone of this chart.

It is rare to see this kind of symmestry in a chart, where every planet is in some sort of relationship to another planet, or to the nodes. This could signify a time for all parts of a system to be working together towards the same goal. Personally, I believe that goal for humans is wholeness, whether we are conscious of it or not. Each experience links us to one another, whether by love or through trauma.

In Family Constellations, this becomes very obvious when a person who saves another's life instantly becomes a member of that person's family system, regardless of their reputation or place in society. And, in the case of war between states or nations, we often find people from both sides coming together in marriage soon after the conflict ends.

The Mars/Uranus square in fixed signs was exemplified by the war between Israel and Iran, which was begun just as this aspect became exact. Although still active in this chart, it is in the process of waning, and hopefully the many sextiles and trines present here indicate a will to negotiate and find diplomatice solutions to a very volatile situation.

The Sun/Jupiter square to Neptune/Saturn speaks a different language. Here, the remarkable presence of Jupiter in Cancer, at the same time the Sun makes his entrance, marking the descent of Spirit onto the material plane, according to ancient texts, gives us a shimmering hope that what we are looking at is not the end of the world, or - as some would like to say - the beginning of World War III, but instead, the dismantling of a system of top-down control and the utter disregard for human life that was acting with complete impunity for centuries, if not millennia.

This square between these power planets is asking us to consider our humanness, and instead of blindly engaging in battles that are being fought for reasons hidden behind a smokescreen of false righteousness, to become spiritual warriors grounded in practical, no-nonsense logic. We must consider the potential consequences of actions undertaken, and whether or not they serve the highest good for ALL beings.
