Full Moon in Taurus, November 19th, 2021

Twice yearly the Moon's new and full Moon phases align with the nodes of the Moon, giving us "Eclipse Season". Our full Moon in Taurus is the first of these to happen in the signs of Taurus and Scorpio, which is where the nodes will be, starting in January until the end of 2023. Eclipses always warrant our attention, but the first one in a series is definitely noteworthy. One of my astrology teachers, Christopher Largent, gives this bit of advice: during an eclipse, DO NOTHING. Ancient astrologers indicated that anything initiated under an eclipse would amount to nothing, or fail miserably. Meditation, contemplation, prayer and physical activity, on the other hand, can greatly benefit us at this time, especially with three planets, Sun, Mars and Mercury, all in Scorpio.

This Taurus full Moon partial eclipse is an awakening to the true value of things, and of Life itself. Sometimes in order to appreciate something, we need to lose it first... or to at least realize that loss is immanent if we keep on doing what we're doing, whether that's engaging in addictive behavior, identifying with negative thought forms or denying what we know deep down to be true. Sometimes loss is beyond our control, in which case we are forced to deal with it and go through the grieving process without which we cannot truly heal. Whether the loss is great or small, close to home or not, allow yourself to observe your state of mind and emotions. Give yourself the time and space to acknowledge and process through whatever comes up, without judgment or blame. And if either of those comes up, acknowledge that as well, then move on.

Loss is an inherent part of the human experience. Scorpio wants to meld with whatever is being lost, glom on to it and never let go. It prefers to live in the shadows alongside the memory of what was lost rather than let go. There is an innate sense of tragedy that is very familiar to Scorpio, whose ability to hold on to what is no longer visible or tangible is rival to none. This is what makes Scorpio natives such good death doulas, shamans and detectives: they are not afraid to step into other dimensions, leaving the comfort of "the light" to delve into the shadows of other worlds.

Mars, the god of war, is at home in Scorpio. Of the two signs he rules, this one is the Yin or feminine one, while Aries is masculine or Yang. His influence here is much more subtle, akin to the nature of the scorpion, which is more defensive than offensive. Having just perfected an opposition to Uranus in Taurus two days ago, his stinger is still erect and ready to inject the deadly poison into his enemies. This, after being thwarted by a square aspect to Saturn about a week ago, is about as much as he can take. Uranus goads him to react to unexpected events by trying to catch him off guard, thereby forcing him to lose his cool. If he does, Uranus wins. If he is able to keep his composure, however, he reaps the rewards that Saturn was trying to offer him to begin with: self-control and mastery. This is definitely not Mars' forte, but he is far more likely to achieve this in Scorpio than in Aries, where his spontaneous and reactive nature is reinforced.

This is not a time to react to bad news by throwing the baby out with the bath water. Most of the "news" we hear anyway is either questionable or subject to rapid change, so what may be true today could very well not be tomorrow. Hold the line and stay true to the values that are near and dear to you. Taurus wants us to reflect upon what is important to us for the next 20 months or so, while she and Scorpio are hosts to the nodes and eclipses. And if you are prone to road rage, as are a few people I know, PLEASE ABSTAIN! Be very careful and attentive on the road, even more so than during a Mercury retrograde, because a Mars/Uranus clash is often fatal. Even when you know you are right, avoid engaging in controversy, as it may cost you a friendship or other relationship. Is being right worth the loss? Or, maybe this was just the loss you needed to become aware of how much you value whatever/whomever you lost. Or, perhaps the loss was a blessing in disguise. The possibilities are endless.

In spite of the intensity mentioned above, from the eclipse to the Mars-Uranus opposition, this chart has a number of very positive qualities, including three trines (60º aspects - harmonious) in Earth and Water signs. The Divine Feminine is busy caring for and nurturing her brood, balancing and soothing the conflicts that arise. Venus in Capricorn is tempering both Mars and Uranus, offering practical and grounded solutions to strife that could potentially leave scars, or worse. She is the silver lining that helps us to accept the loss or mends the hurt with her compassion and caring. After all, the Moon is in her sign of Taurus...

A magnificent trine between Mercury and Neptune is completing, giving us access to a much bigger vision than what we are usually able to see. This includes expanding our perception to include other dimensional realities, no matter how seemingly insignificant. It also speaks to becoming aware of conditioned behavior and false imaging. Last night I watched a documentary on hummingbirds that left me dreamy, with colors that boggled my imagination. The slowed-down images allowed me to perceive a picture of hummingbirds that I was completely unaware of, thereby giving me access to dimensions I hadn't seen until then. The commentary, although quite informative, was definitely tainted with a world view that I might not have noticed before, chock full of assumptions and stereotypes around lack, sexism, survival of the fittest, etc. I observed this and realized that I no longer embrace this world view, and was able to appreciate the beauty I saw while unraveling and separating my beliefs from those presented to me in the documentary. Seems like a good example of this Mercury-Neptune trine in water signs.

The aspects present in this chart are also very much alive on the world stage, as we observe the players engage in unending conflict, name-calling and tyrannical behavior. In spite of careful planning and endless conditioning by the "controlers", Humanity is waking up and shaking free of its bondage. We are slowly beginning to realize that we owe nothing to this small group of elites who have kept us in slavery for thousands of years. Through false imaging they made sure that we had a negative self-image, primarily as sinners. They made certain that we lost our sense of connection to the Creator by convincing us of the need for priests as go-betweens, and treating the Earth with disdain. There are many books that have been written about the myriad ways we have been deceived over the past six thousand years, that were kept hidden from us... and yet we are still waking up. This is a bad dream for those who thought that their power was endless and that they could control us forever, because their time is up. We still have plenty of work to do, to come together as Humanity United, but I have a deep knowing that we will succeed. I know this because this is why I am here. More and more of us are becoming aware of this desire to serve that voice within that calls for unity, sovereignty and the respect of all Life.
