Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius

June 5th, 2020 at 2:12 PM, Central Time

Today’s Full Moon eclipse in Sagittarius marks the beginning of eclipse season and ramps up the energies in this already charged atmosphere, as the Sun and Venus in Gemini oppose the Moon in Sagittarius along the axis of communication, knowledge and higher learning. Not only has Venus dipped under the ecliptic, but she is also retrograde, calling upon us to reflect deeply upon our values and what matters to us at this time. Relationships, both intimate and otherwise, are being evaluated, revisited, reviewed and reinvented in order to adjust to the swiftly changing times. We are being asked not only to stand in our truth, but to give voice to it, declaring boundaries when they are necessary, and giving priority to self-care. Remember, if you are to care for others, you must first be sure that your own needs are met and that you have the bandwidth necessary to be there when others need you (Mercury in Cancer square Chiron in Aries). Fortunately, Mercury sextile Uranus in Taurus is giving us the wherewithal to have a keen sense of our bodily needs, that is, when we choose to tune into them. Please remember to care for your body at this time – I cannot emphasize this enough, as the energies are extremely potent and there is a high potential for us to be swept into the stress and strife that are running high at the moment. There are many tools available to us for this: online yoga classes, getting outside and connecting with Nature, cleanses for detoxing the body, etc.

Now, let’s take a look at these potent energies. Our full moon couple (Sun opposite Moon) has created a T-square (90º angles) with Mars in Pisces. Mars here is not a happy camper! Representing our passion, motivation and life force, all firey attributes, he is feeling either washed out and dissipated in watery Pisces, or – worse – locked up/shut down. Sound familiar? It certainly should, in light of the “stay at home” orders that have been in effect for the past 2 months or so. Situations like this can only last so long until they reach a breaking point – this T-square is exactly that. The demonstrations that were triggered by the murder of George Floyd are likely to peak this weekend. Neptune in Pisces is in his element. Ruler of this sign, the influence he exerts on Mars is considerable. Think about it: firey Mars swimming in an ocean, struggling to keep his flame alive, approached by a tidal wave (Neptune) and having to stay afloat AND keep his fire lit! Adding insult to injury, Sun and Moon square him and offer him up almost like a sacrifice to the water god…

Is this really what we’re looking at? David Wilcock suggests that Kobe Bryant’s tragic helicopter crash was in fact a planned ritual sacrifice of a black icon to the altar of the cabal satanists’ devious plan to take over the world, and that this most recent murder may have also been planned. There is some speculation on whether this was a planned initiative or a random act of violence, and we may never know the truth behind it. One of Neptune’s shadow aspects is deception/illusion, which is why any illusory or deceptive events involving violence taking place as Mars nears him would not be a total surprise.

But Mars will find relief when he moves into his own sign of Aries at the end of this month. He will be staying in Aries for six months, instead of the usual six weeks spent in a sign, because of a retrograde period where the planet does an about-face in Aries, doubles back for over two months before turning direct again, heading out of Aries into Taurus on January 6th, 2021. In Aries, Mars is a true warrior – in his element of fire he shines with purpose, conviction and speed, with a spirit of enterprise. This could indicate that we will experience an upsurge in movements dedicated to creating change on a large scale. Violence is not to be discounted, although we can mitigate it through our individual and collective practices of meditation and conscious awareness of our thoughts and actions. Since Mars will be in Aries for such a long period, much can and will happen during the last months of the year.

The good news? This is a beautiful opportunity to heal some very deep programming (i.e. conditioning passed down generations) involving self-worth and expressing our truth. By stepping back and assessing our addictive consumption of the news and any information that might feel relevant to us, we can see how caught up we tend to become by images coming from outside sources, that might be accurate, but that might also have been “selected” to have a particular impact or outcome. Fortunately, we still have a choice as to what information we consume. After stepping back from media consumption, it is possible to become more discerning about the quality and types of images we allow into our consciousness. And with four planets going on six retrograde this month, it is the perfect time to go inward, meditate and do conscious visualization of the reality you wish to create. Thoughts are energy, and whatever we think, however we feel, affects us and our world. With Mercury (the Mind) in Cancer (compassion) squaring Chiron (the Wounded Healer), we have the potential to change how we think and become aware of the programming that as kept us prisoner to false narratives (scarcity mentality, us vs. them, survival of the fittest, just to name a few) for generations.

We are at a crossroads, perhaps the most important one that Humanity has ever faced. The only true and lasting change must be made from within – all else unfolds from there. We cannot expect to change the conditions for Humanity if we refuse to do the inner work of becoming aware of our own thoughts and the programs that were installed in our operating systems while we were still very young. Many of them are toxic, based on fear and lack. No one is to blame for this – in fact, blaming and wanting to find the culprit who installed these programs, is in and of itself a negative program! If we want to change these programs, we must first become aware of them, release them, and replace them by something more in alignment with our true nature and purpose. For example, if I am addicted to sugar (one of many harmful addictive substances), first I must become aware of my addiction, then I must decide it is no longer in my best interest to continue consuming it. Once that decision made, I do research to find out how I can replace it in my diet, and I begin eating the healthy alternatives instead, or ditch it altogether and just eat fruit. My body will go through an adjustment period, but in the long run I will be very happy to have made the change, because my health will be greatly improved. I realize that addiction can be tricky, and this is a very simplified view. This is why it is so important to explore ALL of the possible origins of addictive behaviors, in particular emotional wounding from childhood, because unless we revisit these events and process through the emotions associated with them, we carry them throughout our lifetimes.

This type of detoxing is desperately needed at all levels of our being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I will not go into the myriad of techniques and teachings now available to us thanks to internet and to the amazing teachers who have authored them, but a few that come to mind are:

· For the body: Yoga, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, whole food cleanses, regular exercise, massage, getting out into Nature…

· For the emotions: Ho’oponopono and The Four Agreements, both teachings from native peoples, breathwork, body techniques mentioned above.

· For the mind: take a media break, write down your dreams for your future life, read inspiring books, journal daily, get an astrology reading (!).

· For the soul: meditate daily, engage in ritual and prayer, service to others.

This is far from being an exhaustive list, but you get the idea. Engaging in daily practices that keep our beings healthy and in alignment with our values and purpose is essential to living a full, healthy life, especially in these times of exacerbated stress. My wish is for each and every one of you to realize what it is that you came here to do, and then step into that with purpose and drive, so that we can be of service to the Whole, Pachamama, Great Spirit, the Cosmos, the Universe.

In infinite gratitude,

Sarah Songbird
